Conversations S2-E108 Brooklyn Shuck

(8/26/2021) Actress Brooklyn Shuck - 'Lynn Bouchard' on 'Evil' - the horror/drama series now streaming on Paramount+, joined Mike and cohost, actress Maddy Crocco who plays 'Lexis Bouchard' opposite Brooklyn on the series. Brooklyn is originally from Kentucky. She came to New York when she was 8 and immediately found success on Broadway in productions of Annie, Matilda the Musical, Tuck Everlasting and her amazing role as Nunu in the Tony Award-Winning play 'The Ferryman'! She actually auditioned for 'Evil' while Ferryman was still on Broadway and ended up booking the role of 'Lynn' - the oldest of the Bouchard Daughters. The rest is history.

Brooklyn is enjoying her role on the show. Now in season 2, season 3 is on the way. This was a fun episode. Big thanks to Maddy Crocco for cohosting and we are glad that she likes sushi! WHAT? you have to listen.

Conversations S2-E107 Kensington Tallman

(8/25/2021 Actress Kensington Tallman joined Mike and returning cohost - actress Ava Bianchi on episode 107. Kensington and Ava know each other which always makes for a wonderful and interesting podcast. Kensington grew up in New York and now based in Los Angeles has been booking consistanly for tv, film and voiceover since her arrival. She currenly stars as 'Bianca Magic' - a series regular on Nickelodeon's mockumentary comedy 'Drama Club' - a dream come true for Kensington. Look for Kensington Tallman in episodes of the upcoming Nickelodeon series 'That Girl Lay Lay' and 'Side Hustle.'
She is grateful and blessed to be a part of the Nickelodeon family. She has also appeared as 'Ruby' opposite Nasim Pedrad in TBS's 'Chad'

Conversations S2-E106 Islie Hirvonen

(8/18/2021) Award-Winning actress Islie Hirvonen joined Mike and returning cohost, actress Ellee Jo Trowbridge on episode 106. Based in Vancouver, BC, Islie has built a stellar acting and voiceover resume’ and consistently books roles for tv and film. She is well known for her starring role as ‘Grace Gibbons’ in the CW series ‘The Flash’ and can be seen as ‘Cable’s daughter’ in the feature film Deadpool 2. She can also be seen as Madison in ‘Cooking With Love’ and Emma in ‘While You Were Dating’. You can also catch Islie on Fox TV’s ‘Wayward Pines’ and the tv series ‘Rush’. 

As a voiceover artist, she has lent her talents to numerous projects for film and tv. Credits include ‘Pup Academy’, ‘Llama Llama’, ‘Nina’s World’, ‘The Willoughby’s’ and Pixar’s animated feature ‘Soul.'

Islie is a ‘Joey’ award-winner and has been nominated for multiple awards including a recent Young Artists Academy nomination for her role as Emma in the Hallmark tv movie ‘Christmas With The Darlings.’

Conversations S2-E105 Maddy Crocco

(8-11-2021) Actress Maddy Crocco joined Mike Dowler and cohost, executive producer and Sci-Fi writer Rockne O’Bannon on episode105 to chat about the horror/drama series 'EVIL' now streaming on Paramount+. Maddy stars as
‘Lexis Bouchard’ – one of four daughters on the series - now in season 2. Season 3 is coming in 2022.

She started studying musical theater and scene acting at the age of 6. From her first live local performance as Chip in “Beauty and The Beast,” it was very clear that she was a talented young girl who had stage presence beyond her years. Her additional community theater credits include Gretl in “The Sound of Music,” Flounder in “The Little Mermaid” and Charlie Bucket in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

When she is not acting, she likes to spend her time with her family, her dog and her friends. She taught herself how to play the guitar and writes her own music. Maddy also created her own fundraising initiative that raised money for a local animal rescue center.  Maddy recently played Sharpay in her school production of High School Musical and is currently developing her own online jewelry boutique.  She is looking forward to pursuing some other roles before she begins filming for the 3rd season of EVIL.

Conversations S2-E104 Maeve Press

(7/28/2021) Mike and cohost, actress Analesa Fisher were joined by actress, writer and comedian Maeve Press for episode 104. A native of New York - now in LA, Maeve Press landed the role of Genevieve - starring opposite Josh Thomas and Kayla Cromer on the Freeform series ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Okay’ now in its second season on Hulu. Maeve has made this role her own and her comedic skills are certainly put to good use on the show.

About to turn 18, Maeve has wisdom beyond her years which is probably why she comes across as real and confident. Discovering that being laughed at was fun and cool is the genesis of her interest in comedy. Maeve Press is blazing a trail as a standup comedian. Her material is original and inspired by the humor found in life experiences and random discoveries. Slightly edgy, Maeve Press feels at home on-stage and has performed standup sets at bars, comedy clubs and festivals everywhere.
At 14, She was the youngest comic ever to perform standup at Boston's
‘Women in Comedy Festival’ and has played other festivals including Hoboken and will once again be appearing at ‘Burbank Comedy Festival’ in August.

Maeve fell in love with the arts early on perhaps by osmosis. Maeve’s parents, C. Fraser Press and Darren are award-winning filmmakers and have produced some amazing films. Maeve starred as ‘Tuesday McDermott’ in the Award-Winning indie film ‘Theresa Is a Mother.’ She also co-wrote and stars as ‘Nora’ in the indie film short ‘Too Many Buddhas’ – now on the indie film festival circuit. The film is a bronze medal winner at the ‘Just For Laughs Film Festival’ in Quebec and will screen at ‘Dances with Films 2021 in late August.

7/14/2021 We were very fortunate to have voiceover artist/actress Emma Berman join Mike and cohost, actress Taylor Paige Henderson join us on ConversationsRadio Ep.103! Emma stars as the voice of 'Giulia Marcovaldo' in Disney Pixar's 'Luca' and has been on cloud nine since booking this dream role. Directed by Enrico Casarosa, this animated feature is set on the Italian Riviera in Portoroso. Sea monsters , Vespas, pasta and more, Luca is amazing and is currently streaming on DisneyPlus. Look for it on Blu-Ray and digital release August 3rd, 2021!

Emma, born and raised in San Francisco, has embraced the arts and remained active in the Bay Area musical theatre community. Her resume' is impressive and Berman always wows her audience when she's on stage.

In additional to her role in 'Luca' Emma Berman's early credits include voiceover work for a number of Leapfrog educational products. She is also the voice of 'Winifred Wings' in Netflix's 'Go! Go! Carson' - an animated series based on the VTECH toy line.

actress Lili Brennan - an amazing talent who has embraced the arts and is riding a wave of success. Lili currently stars as ‘Darcy Marie Jarvis’ on Nickelodeon’s comedy mocumentary ‘Drama Club’! She can also be seen in the Kid’s Jury on episodes of Nickelodeon’s ‘Unleashed.’

Lili’s resume’ speaks for itself and she has been booking almost non-stop. In addition to her work on Nickelodeon, Lili starred opposite Kevin Bacon on Amazon’s ‘I Love Dick’ and had a recurring role in episodes of the Hulu original series ‘Future Man.’ Lily also appeared on HBO’s Silicon Valley. She has also worked on a number of short films and has a background in musical theatre. Lili Brennan’s body of work shows just how versatile she is as an actress and she continues to bring that quality to every role she books.

When Lili is not in front of the camera or on stage. She’s living the dream in Southern California. She has adopted a vegetarian lifestyle because all living creatures matter, especially the unjustly vilified shark population. 6/4/2021, Mike Dowler and cohost, legendary bassist Leland Sklar had a wonderful time with singer/recording artist and actress Connie Jackson to episode 99 of ConversationsRadio! Connie Jackson is a singer/actress, born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. The youngest of four, Connie knew early on what she wanted to do with her life. In 1986, she packed up her car and moved cross-country to Los Angeles, where she has resided ever since.

Although Connie’s primary focus is acting, her career started with singing. Within months of settling in Los Angeles, she was hired by legendary choreographer, Michael Peters, for the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of the Michael Bennett production of "Dreamgirls" at the Ambassador Theatre in 1987.

Connie is proud and thrilled about releasing her very first single 'THIS DAY' featuring Terry Wollman on July 16th! Connie's career highlight are many. She has toured and recorded with pop music icon, Phil Collins, on the Finally…the First Farewell Tour, and the “Going Back” tour. 2015, Connie also toured briefly with Eagles guitarist  Joe Walsh. Connie has performed on numerous special events for artists including, Patti Austin, Faith Hill, Michael McDonald, kd Lang, Seal, and many more. A bucket list moment was singing with Barbra Streisand at the Grammys, and MusiCares Person of the Year.

For over nine seasons, Connie has been a recurring guest star on NCIS as Elaine. Other television credits include, How To Get Away With Murder, Why Women Kill, and 9-1-1. You may also recognize her from countless television commercials.  She is also the voice of Mariah Carey's Grandma Lucy in the animated movie,
All I Want For Christmas Is You.

(3/16/21) Mike and cohost, actress Abby Donnelly chat with actress Catia Ojeda. Catia is known for her role as Terri Quinn on Amazon Studio’s Emmy-nominated show Just Add Magic and also has a recurring guest star role on Netflix’s Malibu Rescue. Catia has appeared on Law & Order, 30 Rock, Fringe, Damages, American Housewife, Grey's Anatomy, Hawaii Five-0 and Criminal Minds and will guest star on the upcoming highly anticipated Selena: The Series for Netflix. Catia recently starred in the feature film Closure, winning Best-Actress awards from Austin Indie Fest and Marbella International Film Festival in Spain.

Her stage credits are impressive having performed in New York City and around the country, most notably starring in the Broadway National Tour of the 101 Dalmatians Musical, directed by multiple TONY Award-winner Jerry Zaks. She continues to appear on stage and was nominated for a L.A. Shae Smolik is an award-winning actress, and Country music singer. Splitting her time between Los Angeles and Iowa, Shae is a natural. Shae has appeared and starred in movies on SyFy, Netflix, Hallmark, Lifetime, TruTv, Amazon, Apple TV and more. She has appeared on ‘Criminal Minds,’ and Lena Waithe’s ‘The Chi.’ She was also cast as Gracie Hickey – one of the lead roles in the Go-90 series ‘Play By Play' - now streaming on RokuTV. She got her start as a model at just 6 years old. Soon after arriving in LA, she booked a National ‘Tide’ commercial, obtained her SAG card and was off and running - booking lead roles in short films, web series and National commercials. She starred opposite Elisabeth Röhm in her feature film debut 'Trafficked' then booked the lead role of 'Irene' in the horror/thriller 'The Hatred.' It’s all about her new EP - Don’t Take Him Down - available on all digital platforms - which she recorded in Nashville not too long ago. She has more music and a video dropping soon. Shae and Ellee know each other well and both starred on ‘Play by Play’

Mackenzie got her start in musical theatre. At 8, she landed the role of 'Young Kate' on her first professional audition. An amazing start.

She continues to hone her craft as an actress and voiceover actress. In addition to her award-winning role on This Is Us, Mackenzie has appeared on Sag AFTRA's 'Storytime Online' 'Gown and Out in Beverly Hills' and an episode of 'Let's Make a Deal'

In 2017, Mackenzie lent her voice talents to Disney's 'Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure' voicing a number of characters and has her sights set on booking more voiceover work.

welcomed actress Ava Bianchi to ConversationsRadio episode 90.
Ava discovered her passion for the arts at a very early age getting her start in Theatre. Not so long ago, Ava performed at The Zephyr Theater on Melrose as ‘Kayla’ in the Bruce Norris  play ‘The Pain and the Itch’ – which was well received.

Ava has since appeared in national commercials and has booked numerous tv and film projects - including appearances on ‘Game Shakers’ ‘Henry Danger’ and the late-night show ‘Conan.’ She has also scored roles in ‘The Undone’ directed by Christopher Anthony Luciano and the tv Mini-Series ‘Chasing Shadows’
directed by Kaleigh Kailani as well as numerous short films too. In 2019, Ava appeared alongside Alyssa de Boiseblanc and Dakota Lotus in Trinity Rose’s music project ‘Love is the Only River.’

Look for Ava Bianchi starring opposite Rebekah Kennedy in Jennifer Goodman’s film ‘The Curse’ and  she is also set to begin work on the film ‘Hexengeddon’ written by Malcolm Harris.

Conversations S2-E89 Emma Grace Berardelli

1/14/2021, Mike and cohost, actress Lily Brooks O'Briant had a wonder time chatting with New York actress Emma Grace Berardelli on episode 89 - our first episode of 2021!

A singer, actress, dancer and bassist, Emma is pretty amazing and her talent shines in everything she does.  She began dance lessons at just 3 years old with singing and acting lessons soon after. Emma’s early training prepared her for theatre opportunities.

Emma’s first show was at Brooklyn’s award-winning Gallery Players Theater where she played the role of ‘Baby Louise’ in the musical ‘Gypsy’ – launching their 50th anniversary. Soon after, Emma Grace returned to the Gallery Players Theater to play the role of the ‘Little Girl’ in ‘RAGTIME – In pursuit of the American Dream’ and in 2017 was cast in the lead role of the musical ‘Annie.’ Emma also starred in the title role in Spotlight Repertory Theatre’s production of ‘Matilda’ in 2019.

Emma went on to play Susan Waverly in two consecutive seasons of the Broadway National Tour of Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas’ which was a dream come true for Emma. She has also booked regional commercials.

Emma recently participated in ‘Christmas with Arwen’ performing with a few of the brightest young stars of Broadway's biggest stage musicals singing Christmas contemporary classics virtually raising awareness for youth-oriented organizations ‘No Kids Hungry’ and ‘Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child.’ These two nationally-recognized 501(c)(3) charity organizations were carefully chosen by the stars' parents for their commitment to helping children at the community-level, through locally-delivered meals, toys and gifts.

Now 12, Emma continues to hone her craft as an actress and musician. Emma is quite the bassist. She enjoys being an active member of the Broadway Youth Ensemble (BYE), Kids of the Arts (KOTA) and the NYC Tap Crew.

Actress Ellee Jo Trowbridge is back for  episode 85 to chat about her role as Alex Campbell along with costars Reid Miller (Pete Hickey) Shae Smolik (Gracie Hickey) and Sarah Elizabeth Withers (Heather) on 'Play By Play.'  Originally slated to air on the Go-90 network, all three seasons of this series have been picked up by Roku! Ellee and the cast are obviously thrilled that that the series has found a new home!

11/5/2020 - Mike and returning guest/cohost actress Ellee Jo Trowbridge were joined by actress Shae Smolik on episode 84!

An Iowa native, Shae Smolik is an award-winning actress, and Country music singer. Splitting her time between Los Angeles and Iowa, Shae is a natural.

Shae has appeared and starred in movies on SyFy, Netflix, Hallmark, Lifetime, TruTv, Amazon, Apple TV and more. She has appeared on ‘Criminal Minds,’ and Lena Waithe’s ‘The Chi.’ She was also cast as Gracie Hickey – one of the lead roles in the Go-90 series ‘Play By Play’ opposite Ellee Jo Trowbridge! Shae got her start as a model at just 6 years old. Soon after arriving in LA, she booked a Pa National ‘Tide’ commercial, obtained her SAG card and was off and running - booking lead roles in short films, web series and National commercials.

She starred opposite Elisabeth Röhm in her feature film debut 'Trafficked' then booked the lead role of 'Irene' in the horror/thriller 'The Hatred.'

Best known for her role as a young ‘Vanya -Number 7 on Netflix’s original series ‘The Umbrella Academy,’ T.J. currently stars as ‘Emma’ opposite Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken and Uma Thurman in ‘The War with Grandpa’ Now in select theaters.

With multiple nominations, T.J. McGibbon won a Joey Award for her role as  ‘Nina’ opposite Michael Fassbender in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse.’ She can be seen in 'The Mercer Report' 'Lucky 7' 'Warehouse 13' 'Rouge, Reign' 'Saving Hope' and the Hallmark’s 'Christmas at Cartwright’s.' Equally stellar are her roles in ‘Cardinals’ ‘The Masked Saint’ and her role as Zev’s Great Granddaughter opposite Christopher Plummer in ‘Remember.’ T.J. has voiced characters on 'Odd Squad' 'Crimson Peak' ''Super Why' 'Wishenpoof' and other animated shows!

Nikki Castillo started singing and dancing at the age of 5 and by the time she was 10, made her professional stage – appearing in such productions as ‘Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.  She also landed the title role in the Page-To-Stage workshop production of Tony-Award-Winners Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater’s new musical ‘The Nightingale’ at the La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California. In late 2015, she booked her first TV show guest starring in season 2 of Disney’s ‘K.C. Undercover’ playing the recurring role of Akina opposite Zendaya and is also known for her recurring role as Patty Logan on the CBS’s ‘Scorpion.’ She is also a busy voice artist and has booked some animated shorts. Isabella always has something new happening. New projects, Life Changes and such. She has been making her mark in Hollywood both in film and on television.
She currently stars as 'January' in 'Secret Society of Second-Born Royals' Streaming on Disney+!

Isabella Blake-Thomas, now 18, landed in Los Angeles not so long ago and now calls Hermosa Beach home. She is the Daughter of producer, director and writer Elizabeth Blake-Thomas. Both enjoy working on projects together. They collaborated on the feature film ‘Pretty Outrageous’ which stars Isabella and she will soon be seen in ‘Running on Empty’.  Catch her opposite John Voight and Alexa Nisenson as a young Caroline in the film ‘Orphan Horse’

Isabella consistently books. Not too long ago, she landed the lead role of Ella in ‘Kepler’s Dream’ starring opposite Holland Taylor. She starred as young Zelena on ABC’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ a pregnant teenager on episodes of the Showtime comedy ‘Shameless’ and booked a guest star role on Nickelodeon’s ‘Game Shakers’.

From her early beginnings in London on CBeebies children’s television show ‘The Green Balloon Club’ actress Isabella Blake-Thomas has worked hard to develop a style which is versatile. The respect she has for the craft motivates her to push the artistic envelope as an actress, writer and songwriter. Having appeared in film and tv projects both in the UK and the States, Isabella has proved herself as an established actress - having booked over 32 roles both on tv and film affording her the opportunity to work with the Best of the Best. At just 7, she appeared in the movie 'Enid' playing alongside Helena Bonham-Carter.

9/17/2020, Mike and cohost, actress Glory Joy Rose welcomed Lily Brooks O'Briant to ConversationsRadio episode 79. Lily can currently be seen as ‘Mandy’ on the Netflix series Show.’ Lily can also be seen as ‘Young Dot’ in Amazon’s 'The Tick’ and has appeared in a number of tv shows and films. Lily Brook show business career began at 4 years old when she was asked to perform in a play. It was this opportunity that fostered her love for acting and performing. In 2015 – at just 8, Lily landed her first feature film role as ‘Carly’ opposite ‘Dolph Lundgren’ in  'Shark Lake' and has consistently booked roles in film and television. Also in 2015, she joined the cast of the US Broadway tour the musical ‘Matilda’ which played in cities across the U.S.

Originally from Memphis, TN,  Lily now calls Southern California her home. She began booking a number of short films – including the lead role in ‘Marina’ - The story of a young girl who inherits Spinal Muscular Atrophy from her mom. She received a multiple nominations and wins for her portrayal in the film.

9/3/2020 Mike and cohost, actress Simone Lockhart welcomed actor, composer, writer, singer, dancer and all-things-Broadway Joshua Turchin to episode 78 of ConversationsRadio! Joshua Turchin is a 13 year old actor based in New York City.

This past June, Joshua Turchin’s award winning musical ‘The Perfect Fit’ Remote EP was released. ‘The Remote EP’ – music & lyrics written by Joshua Turchin which stars Laura Benanti and Nikki Renee Daniels along with Gary Gendell, Grace DeAmicis, Ellie Kimm Swayam Bhatia and Lily Brooks O’Briant - includes six selections from his musical and is the first musical concept EP to be recorded entirely virtual. Joshua knew that due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, bringing his show to Broadway might not be possible. So, decision was made to make it available digitally everywhere. 

Joshua garnered rave reviews for his performance in Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation. As a musician/composer, Joshua plays more than 11 instruments, including piano, drums, guitar and ukulele.

7/15/2020, actress Gabriella Graves joined Mike and cohost, actress
Abby Donnelly on episode 74. Well known for her recurring role as ‘Delaware’ on Disney’s Coop and Cami Ask the World, Gabi Graves has appeared on Agent Carter, Alex Inc and a guest star role as a young Krill girl on Fox’s The Orville.

Gabriella has also built a strong voiceover resume' and can be heard as the voice of twins ‘Mary Pay’ and ‘Bianca’ on the hit Netflix animated show Spirit Riding Free as well as ‘Wren’- the loud mouth boss, on Amazon's Costume Quest and has lent her voice talents to Disney Jr’s Sofia the First
for the roles of  ‘Flurry and ‘young Cordelia.’

Gabi will soon be heard in the lead role as ‘Sweetie’ on Disney Jr’s The Chicken Squad.

When she's not working, Gabi creates YouTube videos she loves sing, plays piano, ukulele and guitar.  Gabi studies Tae kwon Do and is an avid book lover!
She is also a Junior Ambassador for Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and volunteers with the ‘Looking Ahead’ program through SAG-AFTRA.

Gabi and her family have a non-profit called 'I Am Courageous' ( www.iamcourageous.net) where they create uplifting music for seriously ill children.

Her motto she uses to encourage all she comes in contact with is: "Dream Big, Be Kind, Love Always."
